The Housekeeper has been mopping up!
She doesn't know who is to blame for this misdemeanour, however in hindsight it's a miracle that it hasn't happened sooner.....
The source of the water which is now creeping across the conservatory floor, is the bubble tube which you can see in the corner of the room. It has an electric pump which blasts bubbles up through the tube through a film of different coloured lights giving an ambient effect in the room at dusk - or - IT DID!
The Housekeeper was very, very confused for a few minutes as to why there was SO much water everywhere, but the tube was still upright and hadn't been knocked over. It was only when she started mopping up and was moving things that she realised what had happened.
Someone has chewed holes in the plastic pipe which runs from the bubble tube to the pump.
With sarcastic THANKS to The Katnip Lounge who suggested in a comment yesterday, that the Four Abyssinians should stage a purrotest due to both Housekeeper's going AWOL over the last few days.
The tail of four Abyssinian cats. Crystal; a Fawn Abyssinian girl. Amber; a Sorrel Abyssinian girl, Jasper; a Fawn Abyssinian boy and Dino; a Sorrel Abyssinian boy (brothers) This blog is about the house that they share and the daily trouble that they cause The Housekeeper.

How to De-Junk your Life
The Housekeeper remembers a television programme some years ago called How to De-Junk Your Life. Dealing with Clutter. How to De-Junk Your Home. It gave radical, but sensible ideas on how to gut a room, sort out the essential from the sentimental and to let go of the junk.
A dejunking expert is not required at The Housekeepers. She has four mini whirlwinds who are willing to indiscriminately select possessions of The Housekeeper's which they feel she should no longer have to dust.
The Housekeeper suspects that a fly may have been to blame for the mayhem which was caused at lunchtime today. She heard the crash - and knew it spelled trouble. It is, however, VERY worrying in hindsight that when faced with a room of broken glass, three absent felines and the fourth leaving the scene of the crime that the first thought was to where the camera was for evidence. The Housekeeper is pleased to report that there were no trails of blood to be seen and all sixteen paws were checked for signs of cuts as soon as the broken glass had been picked and hoovered up.
So: The bell tolls today for;
1) The large blue goblet vase which stood on the conservatory table. It was destroyed by a low flying empty wine bottle (which survived). Purchased for just £5 at a car boot sale on a warm sunny day, not unlike today by The Housekeeper, out on a mission with her mate Ian, when they were on the hunt for props for a show.
2) A goldfish bowl shaped lantern which took a candle or tea light.
3) A wrought iron stand with three mini glass goldfish bowls which took tea lights as well
4) A square lantern with painted glass
5) The rope light which used to be hidden in the internal conservatory guttering to reflect light onto the ceiling
Fortunately the glass top table in the conservatory survived. Just.
Smashing!

Whodunnit? 2
The Housekeeper ventured out in the snow at lunchtime and walked into the village for provisions for lunch with Mr Housekeeper. When they arrived back home they got the camera and car keys and cleared the snow off The Housekeeper's car (snowball fight ensued!) and took some pictures of the snow at the same time.
On return to the house with said supplies, it became apparent that someone in the household had decided to have a take away for lunch and to eat out of the bag to save on the washing up.
No one is owning up, although Jasper does have a tiny paper type cut on one of his front pads........
Whodunnit?
We have been burgled.
Mystery surrounds the sudden disappearance of a number of tails belonging to the resident toy rodents in the household.
A spokesperson for the property confirmed in a statement this morning that no less than 7 small white and grey fur mice, had indeed been spotted without their tails. The crime is suspected to have occured within the last 2-3 weeks but has only just been discovered. The victims also confirmed that a further 5 of their comrades also appear to be missing, assumed lost, under the settee or dining room cabinet.
This is especially upsetting for The Housekeeper who confirmed that the mice were heirlooms which had once belonged to and been played with by the current residents great-uncle Parsnip and had been handed down to the current occupants, having been played with by both Crystal and Amber when they were young.
The victims did agree to be photographed but all wished to remain anonymouse!
Neither small Fawn or Sorrel Abyssinian suspect was available for comment.
